1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy explains how BabyGrow FZC ("BabyGrow", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit our website at www.babygrowfzc.com, contact us or do business with us through it.
BabyGrow FZC is a baby and childcare distributor registered in the United Arab Emirates at Plot No. 1 LB-04B, 1L-05, Hamriyah Free Zone, PO Box 51641, Sharjah, UAE. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
This policy applies to our website and to related contact points such as enquiry forms, newsletters and partnership applications. It does not cover third-party sites that we link to, including retailer and brand websites. Please read their policies separately.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need, in three ways.
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, job title, company, email address, phone number and country
- Business enquiry details: brands, products, markets and volumes you tell us about when asking about distribution, retail supply or partnerships
- Messages, attachments and any other content you send through forms or by email
- Newsletter or marketing preferences, where you opt in
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size and language
- Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, referring site and clicks
- Cookie and similar identifiers (see section 4)
Information from other sources
- Business contact details from public sources, trade events, brand partners or retail partners, where you work with or have shown interest in our industry
Our website is aimed at businesses and adult visitors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
3. How we use your information and why
We use personal data only for the purposes below. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the legal basis stated for each purpose. Under UAE law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data) we rely on your consent, on performing or entering into a contract, or on our legitimate business interests as permitted.
- Respond to enquiries. We use your contact and enquiry details to answer questions about distribution, supply or partnerships. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests and taking steps before entering a contract.
- Run our business relationships. We use your details to onboard retailers and brand partners and to manage accounts. Our legal basis is contract and our legitimate interests.
- Marketing. We send newsletters and product and trade updates, and we show LinkedIn ads to visitors who viewed our Baby Expo and event pages. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Improve the website. We use analytics, performance data and security monitoring to keep the site useful and safe. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests, plus your consent for non-essential cookies.
- Meet legal and regulatory duties. We keep records and respond to authorities where the law requires. Our legal basis is legal obligation.
We do not sell personal data. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. Non-essential cookies are set only after you consent where the law requires it.
- Strictly necessary cookies keep the site secure and working and remember your cookie choice. They do not need your consent.
- Analytics cookies count visits and show us which pages are useful. They need your consent.
- Marketing cookies measure campaigns and let us show you relevant ads on other sites, including LinkedIn. They need your consent.
Tools we may use. Depending on how the site is set up at any time, these include Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for visit statistics and tag management; Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing; Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram ads; the LinkedIn Insight Tag (explained below); Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar for heatmaps and session recordings; HubSpot or Mailchimp for forms and email marketing; Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection; Cloudflare for security and performance; and embedded content from YouTube, Google Maps and Google Fonts. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
You can change your choices through the cookie banner or your browser settings at any time. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to recognise visitors who view our pages, including pages for the Baby Expo and other events, and to show them BabyGrow ads on LinkedIn later. The tag shares your IP address, browser data and page visits with LinkedIn, which handles that data under its own privacy policy. We only enable it if you accept marketing cookies, and you can also opt out in your LinkedIn ad settings. The list of tools above may change over time, and we update this policy when it does.
5. Sharing, international transfers, retention and security
Who we share data with
- Service providers that host our website, send email, run analytics, deliver advertising (such as LinkedIn, Google and Meta) or support our IT systems, bound by contract to use data only on our instructions
- Group companies and affiliated businesses, where needed to handle your enquiry or run the relationship
- Brand and retail partners, only where you have asked us to introduce you or the enquiry requires it
- Professional advisers, auditors, regulators, courts and law enforcement, where the law requires or permits
- A buyer or investor, if BabyGrow is involved in a merger, sale or financing, under confidentiality terms
International transfers
We operate across the GCC, Africa, Central Asia and the UK, so your data may be processed outside your country. Where we transfer data from the UK or EU, we use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Transfers from the UAE are made in line with the UAE data protection law.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected. Enquiry data is kept until you ask us to remove it. Contract and financial records are kept for the period required by law. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit, access controls and staff confidentiality obligations. No online system is fully secure. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
6. Your rights, children, changes and contact
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data or restrict how we use it
- Object to processing, including direct marketing and LinkedIn retargeting
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Complain to your data protection authority, such as the UAE Data Office or the UK Information Commissioner's Office
To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We respond within one month, or sooner where local law requires.
Children
Our website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. We will give clear notice of material changes on the website.
